Chapter 5 Who is the superintendent?
‘Superintendent‘ is the term commonly used to describe an individual or business who is given specific roles or functions under a construction contract to administer the contract.
It is not always essential to appoint a superintendent, particularly in simple works.
Other terms may be used to describe the role, for example:
- in the ABIC form of contract the reference is to the Architect; and
- in PC-1 the reference is to the Contract Administrator.
