Quantity Surveyor (QS) (also known as Construction Economist or Cost Manager)
A construction industry professional who applies knowledge of construction methods and costs to give advice on cost planning, estimating, tenders and management. Traditionally, Quantity Surveyors use design and drawing information to draft a Bill of Quantities for use by contractors when submitting tenders or planning for works.
A claim for the recovery of a reasonable sum of money for work done or services rendered at the request of and accepted by the defendant. It is a form of restitutionary claim founded on the principles of unjust enrichment. Such a claim often arises where a contract is unenforceable or becomes void.
